Where are we going?

Emounah opened its lodge doors on March 11, 2001, becoming the first women’s Masonic lodge in the greater Washington, DC area.

Our name is feminine, meaning trust, solidity, and faith, values that continue to shape how we work together today. Our lodge is a true mosaic of diversity, and it’s through that diversity that real growth takes place among Sisters. Tolerance and a non-judgmental attitude aren’t optional here, they’re required. The principles of Freemasonry call for a spirit of accepting difference, rejecting prejudice, and approaching one another with cultural sensitivity. Neither religion nor politics are discussed in our meetings.

Every member is on a path to discover and understand both herself and the world. We abide by the tenets of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity.
